Mr. Jain joined Athyrium in 2018 as a Partner. Mr. Jain has more than 10 years of healthcare investment experience across a range of sub-sectors including post-acute care, pharma services, consumer-oriented healthcare, medical devices, and healthcare IT.
Prior to joining Athyrium, Mr. Jain was a Director at Thomas H. Lee Partners (THL), one of the world's oldest and most experienced private equity firms.
Mr. Jain also previously served on the Boards of Directors of Party City, Curo Health Services, and Professional Physical Therapy.
Mr. Jain holds an MBA, with Honors, in Healthcare Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania; an MS in Chemical Engineering Practice from Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and a B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where he was the recipient of the Institute Silver Medal.
Managing Director, Blackstone Group
Justin Sunshine is a Managing Director in the Private Equity group, where he focuses primarily on investments across the Healthcare industry. Mr. Sunshine has worked in both the New York and London offices, and has been involved in the execution of Blackstone’s investments in Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD), Change Healthcare, Apria Healthcare Group, Intertrust, ATC, Scout24 and TeamHealth.
Mr. Sunshine joined Blackstone in 2009 and was initially in Blackstone Advisory Partners where he executed a variety of transactions, primarily focused in the telecommunications sector.
Mr. Sunshine holds a BBA in finance from the University of Texas at Austin - McCombs School of Business, where he graduated with high honors. Mr. Sunshine also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he was the recipient of a two-year Chicago Booth merit scholarship. He serves on the Board of Directors of Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD), Apria Healthcare Group, Change Healthcare and TeamHealth.
Avinash Amin, MD
Managing Director, Madryn Asset Management
Dr. Amin is a Co-Founder and Partner of Madryn Asset Management, LP. Prior to forming Madryn, Dr. Amin was a founding investment team member and Partner of Visium Healthcare Partners, LP, a private equity fund sponsored by Visium Fund Management, LP, where he was the head of the fund’s New York office and was responsible for structured debt, growth equity, and royalty investments in the healthcare industry, from 2014 through 2017.
Prior to joining Visium, Dr. Amin was a Managing Director at Siguler Guff & Company, LP, a multi-strategy private equity firm, from 2009 through 2014. At Siguler Guff, Dr. Amin headed the firm’s healthcare investment strategy and was responsible for sourcing and leading healthcare investments including royalty monetizations, specialty financings, and buyout/growth equity transactions in both developed and emerging economies.
Dr. Amin obtained an MD from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where he completed his residency and practiced as a physician before joining biopharmaceutical company Novactyl, Inc. as Chief Clinical Officer. In addition to an MD, Dr. Amin received an MHA and a BA in classics from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Amin is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Benjamin Edmands (‘99)

Benjamin Edmands is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Consonance Capital Partners.
Prior to founding CCP, he was a Managing Director at JPMP, where he co-led the Healthcare Group. Benjamin joined JPMP in 1993 and served on numerous boards, including Big Rock, CareMore, DJO, LHP Hospital Group, MedQuest, National Surgical Care, and Warner Chilcott, Inc. He also serves on the board of Enclara Healthcare, Bako Diagnostics, Orsini Pharmaceutical Services and Mount Sinai’s Children’s Environmental Health Center and is on the Executive Council of the Harvard School of Public Health.
Benjamin holds a BA from Colgate University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Jon Levy joined CVC in 2018. Jon is a member of the US Healthcare team and is based in New York.
Prior to joining CVC, Jon worked at L1 Health and Tailwind Capital, both New York-based private equity firms.
Jon graduated with a BA from Yale University and received an MBA Columbia Business School.

Amy Wollensack is co-chair of Covington & Burling LLP’s Private Equity Practice Group and a member of the Corporate Practice Group. She represents private equity and other corporate clients in a wide range of complex transactions including leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, going private transactions, PIPEs, venture capital and growth equity investments, and other transactional matters. Ms. Wollensack has extensive experience representing clients in domestic and cross border transactions in a broad spectrum of industry sectors, including healthcare, life sciences, technology, entertainment, logistics, media, consumer products, food and beverage, franchise, automotive, software, manufacturing, financial services, agriculture, defense, and hospitality. Ms. Wollensack received her J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 2007, where she served as Executive Notes Editor of the Washington University Global Studies Law Review, earned an MSN from the Medical College of Virginia in 2002, and B.S. from the University of Richmond in 1999.
